NURSERY
We grow a wide range of quality plants from stock in the garden
and tunnels. We also sow up to 300 varieties of seed both from the
garden and seed suppliers.
The only plants bought in are clematis cultivars because Keith
is useless with cuttings (but not much else!!); all the rest are
propagated and grown here. We can also grow plants to order from
plants in the garden and tunnels. Prices are reasonable, usually
based on pot sizes but large, difficult to raise, rare or slow
growing plants are priced separately.
We do not publish a catalogue because we have only small stocks
at any one time and the range of plants for sale changes from year
to year. Please contact us if you are searching for a particular
plant because if we cannot provide it we have numerous contacts in
the nursery trade.
TALKS TO CLUBS
Keith is available to give talks to clubs and societies within a
50 mile radius of the Gardens. Charges are made for delivering the
talk and expenses for travel. Please enquire for details. Current
topics include My Garden Year, Vegetable Growing, Hostas, Autumn
Colour, Buttercups, Hellebores and Gardening with Perennials -
Colour Schemes for the Flower Garden. Keith is willing to devise
and deliver talks on other topics within his own knowledge and
experience. Please feel free to contact him with suggestions for
other subjects
TEAS
Myddfai WI have supported every one of our published Yellow Book
openings, and claim that their teas are the main draw to the
gardens!! Few would argue that the range and quality of their home
made cakes is second to none and they have had the honour of
providing refreshments to HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The
Duchess of Cornwall on several occasions. They are an indispensable
part of our "Open Days" and we are most grateful for all their
efforts.
At other times, Moira provides her own delicious home made
cakes being assisted in serving teas on group visits by
friends and neighbours.
